Summer Camp Inclusion Specialist 36 Hours/Weekly - $15.00 Hour Schedule: (6/3/24 to 7/25/24) Monday-Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm
Qualifications: Must have extensive knowledge and firsthand experience with children/youth in a variety of settings. Prefer at least 2 years’ experience in a Therapeutic environment. (Special needs) Must have extensive knowledge of disabilities, to include but not limited to: Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder and Complex Developmental Trauma. Must have a Virginia Driver’s License and CPR certification required. Applicant must be able to pass criminal background and drug test. Duties and Responsibilities: Must have extensive knowledge and hands on experience with children/youth in a variety of settings. Effectively communicate and facilitate groups of 5 to 20 children/youth, ages 6-13. Some groups will include individuals with disabilities. Exceptional leadership, supervisory and critical thinking skills. Participate in the development and implementation of program activities for campers. Directly work with Henrico PAL Managers, Police Officers, Summer Camp Staff, and Volunteers Ability to work independently. Effective oral and written communication skills Assesses and enforces participant discipline and communicates directly with parents/guardian of participants. Manage property and maintenance needs with managers and site custodian to ensure stewardship of current resources and identification of future needs. Represent Henrico PAL when interacting with parents, guardians, or community members, following appropriate protocol when providing information and feedback. Effectively and accurately complete necessary forms and reports. This is a seasonal position and qualifies for no benefits.
