Johnny Newman Golf Classic

Henrico PAL Friend,

The Henrico Police Athletic League is hosting its Johnny Newman-Henrico PAL Golf Tournament Fundraiser. The tournament will be held at the beautiful privately owned Dominion Club, located at 6000 Dominion Club Drive, Glen Allen, VA on Monday, June 3, 2013. Lunch and post event refreshments will be provided.

This tournament is a fundraising effort to keep our rates low and afford us the ability to offer additional scholarships to Henrico County families. Therefore, we really need your help to make this event a success! We are also looking for various levels of sponsors!  If you know golfers, individuals and/or organizations who might be interested in participating please use the following links:

Located at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center and

Harvie Elementary School.

Henrico PAL 2012 Award Winners!

 

On February 7, 2013, The Henrico Police Athletic League held its 4th Annual Awards Banquet at The Cultural Arts Center of Glen Allen. The ceremony was a celebration of the accomplishments of Henrico PAL, and also a means to honor the outstanding commitment and contribution by the 2012 award winners.  The Award Banquet was led by Henrico County Juvenile Domestic Court Judge Denis Soden, who served as Master of Ceremony and Former NFL Head Coach Bobby Ross served as keynote speaker.

The Award Banquet was kicked off with a performance from the Henrico PAL Dance/ Step Team, choreographed and led by Henrico PAL Dance Instructor Angelica Jones.  The ceremony was attended by Henrico County Board of Supervisors Frank Thornton and Tyrone Nelson, Henrico County Manager John Vithoulkis, Henrico County School Superintendent Dr. Patrick Russo, Assistant Superintendent Ed Buzzelli, Elected School Board Members, Henrico County Police Chief Doug Middleton, other dignitaries, Police Officers, Henrico PAL Board Members, supporters, and volunteers. 

The Henrico PAL Award Winners for 2012 were:  Henrico County Schools-Pupil Transportation (Significant Contribution to the 2011 &2012 Summer Camps), Kennedy Goldsborough (2012 Youth of the Year), Louise Whitehead (2012 Volunteer of the Year), Chanay Taylor (2012 Employee of the Year), Carol Wilson-King ( 2012 Employee of the Year), Don Blake (2012 Board Member of the Year),  Sergeant Kenneth Ragland ( 5 Years of Dedicated Service), and Virgil Hazelett,  Former Henrico County Manager (Significant Contribution and Support)

Henrico PAL's National PAL Award Winners!

 

 

On Thursday May, 24 2012 in Orlando FL, Henrico PAL Youth Leadership Council President and Henrico PAL Board Member Johnny Newman were recognized as National Police Athletic League's "2011 Male Youth of the Year," and "2011 Male Volunteer of the Year." Respectively, Aubrey and Johnny were selected among hundreds of candidates across the country. The award ceremony was attended by over 200 police and PAL representatives from throughout the United States and the Virgin Islands. The keynote speaker for the ceremony was NFL great and Heisman Trophy Winner, Tim Brown.

Your Henrico Police Athletic League received two of four National PAL Awards which confirms the outstanding work being done by all of our dedicated Board Members, Police Officers, employees and volunteers. During their acceptance speeches, Aubrey and Johnny both acknowledged Henrico PAL's positive impact on our youth; and received standing ovations.

Aubrey Temple, a senior at Highland Springs High School, received a $2,500 scholorship from National PAL and will Attend Duke University, majoring in Engineering.
